The City of Salisbury is excited to offer a paid 8-week employment opportunity for local high school students. Participants will work in various industries throughout Salisbury, gaining workforce readiness and career-specific skills. The program includes structured learning and mentoring designed to equip teens with the skills and knowledge needed for success after graduation.
Junior Achievement will collaborate with student participants to ensure excellent on-the-job performance and provide guidance on resume writing and the development of soft skills. By the end of the program, participants will have acquired work experience, learned valuable job skills, and gained essential knowledge for future career growth.
Qualifications:
- Students must be in the 10th -12th grade for the 2026/2027 academic year
- Must be currently enrolled in the Wicomico County school district
- Must be able to provide work permit no later than June 22nd,2026
- Applicants are required to provide 2 forms of updated identification (Birth certificate, social security card, current student ID or state issued ID)
- Must have consistent reliable transportation to & from work
- Applicants residency in the City of Salisbury preferred (but not required)
- Must be able to work up to 28 hours per week for the 8 week period starting June 22nd, 2026 – August 14th, 2026
