High Speed Fiber Grant Application

This packet contains information and the application for the grant program for property owners in the Downtown area to tap into Maryland Broadband’s high-speed fiber that is run along Main Street.

• The property must be located within Downtown Salisbury, using existing conduits that have been abutted to buildings as part of the Main Street project.
• Eligible costs are limited to the construction cost of bringing fiber into the private property and ending at the termination point where the modem will be located

• Application must be made by the legal property owner or by the tenant with written approval from the property owner.
• Applicant must use licensed contractor to perform work, and must have approval of the Historic District (if necessary)
• The City will not approve digging up of sidewalks or work that would alter the improvements that were part of the Main Street Construction project (completed in November 2020)
• Grants are available in amounts not to exceed $2,500 and will be made on a reimbursement basis only
• Grants will be made on a first come/first served basis, until funds run out for the Fiscal Year. This program is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment can be made.
•By applying for this grant, you hereby agree that these construction costs will not be passed along to those that will ultimately be using the service. Passing any of these costs on will make the application ineligible for funding.
