Salisbury—Mayor Jake Day is pleased to announce that the City of Salisbury was honored with the Risk Management Services Award at the 32nd annual Local Government Insurance Trust (LGIT) meeting earlier this month.
The Risk Management Services Award is presented to LGIT member organizations that consistently demonstrate excellence in, and outstanding commitment to loss reductions, ongoing training, adherence to LGIT’s Risk Management Guidelines, and the use of LGIT’s resources. 2019 is the second consecutive year that the City has earned this recognition.
“Receiving this award is truly the result of a team effort inclusive of all City departments,” said Frank Ennis, City Safety Manager.
To earn the honor, a member organization must score 100% on LGIT’s Primary Program Loss Control Credit Survey. The survey consists of questions on a range of topics such as safety management, inspections, employee training, vehicle preventative maintenance programs, and accident investigations. “Our score echoes the City’s dedication to providing a safe community for our residents and a healthy working environment for our employees,” noted Ennis.
The prevention of work-related injury translates into significant savings through the avoidance of medical expenses, legal fees, and lost time. By scoring 100% on the Loss Credit Control Survey, Salisbury is seeing additional savings in the form of a $13,552 credit toward its primary liability premium. LGIT is the City’s insurer.
“We are thrilled to be recognized once again for our exceptional safety practices,” added Mayor Jake Day. “This award reflects our devotion to safety in all operational aspects of our City. Congratulations to Frank Ennis and to every City employee who has helped us set the gold standard for risk management practices right here in Salisbury.”
