The City of Salisbury is excited to announce that curbside recycling services will resume on Tuesday, November 17th. Residents will be able to recycle all previously accepted materials, with the exception of plastics. Plastics will not be accepted by the City Sanitation Division until further notice.
Recyclable materials that qualify for pickup include paper, cardboard, aluminum/tin/bi-metal cans, and glass bottles and jars. The Sanitation Division asks that all paper is tied together or placed in a paper bag for collection. Please be sure to wash out glass bottles and metal cans before placing them out for collection.
Curbside recycling is collected on the same day as curbside trash pickup. Please place recycling bins and trash receptacles on the curb before 6:00 AM on your designated pickup day to ensure orderly and timely pickup of materials. For public safety, recycling and trash receptacles must be removed by 11:00 PM the same day.
“We want to thank our residents for their patience throughout these times of uncertainty, our sanitation teams for their dedication, and our Sustainability Coordinator who helps keep sustainability at the forefront of our minds. We also encourage residents to try to reduce and reuse before relying on recycling,” shared City Administrator Julia Glanz.
If for some reason your recyclables are not picked up from your curb, there is a possibility that a non-recyclable ended up in your bin. If this is the case please reevaluate the curbside materials accepted, or call Recycling Support at 410-548-3177.
Need a recycling bin? Bins are available at no charge and can be acquired by calling the Field Operations Department at 410-548-3177, they will be delivered for your convenience.
