The City of Salisbury is advising residents and commuters of a temporary road closure on Cedar Lane in Fruitland to allow for necessary maintenance at the Cedar Lane railroad crossing.
The closure will begin on Friday, October 24 at approximately 7:00 a.m. and will remain in place through Tuesday, October 28 until the end of the day. During this time, no vehicular traffic will be permitted to cross the railroad tracks.
To minimize disruption, a detour route passing through the City of Salisbury will be established. Drivers will be advised by signage to utilize Route 13 Business, College Avenue, Snow Hill Road, and the Bypass to detour around the closure. Detour signage will be posted in advance and throughout the duration of the closure to guide traffic.
“This project reflects the ongoing collaboration between Salisbury, Fruitland, the Maryland State Highway Administration, and the railroad to ensure safe and efficient transportation infrastructure for our residents,” said Mayor Randy Taylor. “We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as this important work is completed. The City is happy to accommodate these upgrades to local infrastructure by facilitating detours through the City.”
The City of Salisbury remains committed to keeping our roadways safe and well-maintained for all who live, work and visit our community.
