Salisbury, MD – This October, the City of Salisbury will mark the completion of two separate park projects with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at City Park and Waterside Park. The events will highlight the recently completed work and let residents see the improvements.
City Park Pedestrian Bridge
The first ribbon-cutting will be held Friday, Oct. 9, at 4 p.m. at City Park, 535 S. Park Drive. The renovated pedestrian bridge, located across from the bandstand, provides a pedestrian connection between areas of the park.
The project focused on improving the bridge’s condition, safety, and longevity so it can continue serving residents and visitors for years to come.
“The pedestrian bridge has become an iconic part of Salisbury’s identity and a familiar landmark for generations of residents and visitors. Restoring this bridge allows us to preserve an important piece of our City’s character while ensuring it remains a safe and beautiful part of the City Park for years to come,” said Mayor Randy Taylor.
Waterside Park Upgrades
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 4 p.m., the City will celebrate the completion of improvements at Waterside Park, 1001 Parsons Road.
Waterside Park has remained open throughout the project. The completed work includes a new permanent restroom facility, covered pavilion, paved parking, and ADA-compliant pathways connecting the parking area with the pavilion and other park amenities, including the waterfront.
“These additions make Waterside Park easier for families and residents to enjoy,” said Council President April Jackson. “With the pavilion, restrooms, paved parking and accessible pathways, people have more ways to gather, spend time together and enjoy the park.”
Residents are invited to join the ribbon-cutting and celebrate the progress being made across Salisbury’s parks this fall.
