Salisbury Welcomes Nick Rice as Our New City Administrator

    September 23, 2025

SALISBURY, Md.— The City of Salisbury is excited to introduce Nick Rice as our new City Administrator!

Mayor Randy Taylor expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Nick brings over a decade of experience in government, with a strong foundation in finance and procurement. Throughout the interview process, I was particularly impressed by his depth of knowledge, steady temperament, and well-earned reputation as a dedicated and hardworking professional—all essential qualities for success in this role.”

Nick has spent the past 12 years serving our region in local government, starting with the Town of Ocean City, then stepping into roles as Wicomico County’s Purchasing Agent and later as Worcester County’s Procurement Officer. Along the way, he’s built a reputation for being dedicated, collaborative, and committed to making local government work better for the people it serves.

Nick’s educational journey began at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management. He later made Salisbury his academic home as well, completing his MBA at Salisbury University.

But what really defines Nick is his connection to the community. He and his wife are raising their two young boys right here in Salisbury, and when he’s not at work, you’ll find him out on the field, coaching little league and flag football.

When asked about stepping into his new role, Nick shared:

“I am truly honored to accept the role as City Administrator and serve the residents of the City of Salisbury. Furthermore, I am grateful to the Mayor and Council for entrusting me with this opportunity. I look forward to applying my knowledge and experience in efforts that will positively impact the progression of our city.”

We are thrilled to have Nick’s leadership, energy and heart for Salisbury guiding our city forward. Please join us in giving him and his family a warm welcome!
