Salisbury- In consideration of Wicomico County passing the 7% COVID positivity rate yesterday, spending the past eight days above 5%, and having the County lead the State is cases per 100,000, City Administrator Julia Glanz has announced additional precautions to better protect our community from Coronavirus.
Beginning Wednesday, September 16th at 5:00 pm, all gatherings inside of Salisbury city limits will be held to a 15-person limit when indoors, and a 50-person limit for outdoor gatherings. This order applies to parties, cookouts and other social gatherings that are not associated with patronizing or operating a business of any sort.
“If there’s a chance that our actions will slow the spread of the virus, get our schools open more quickly, and keep our citizens from dying, then we are doing the right thing,” shared City Administrator Julia Glanz.
The rules imposed by this order have been carefully considered in order to slow the spread of COVID while avoiding any economic impact on our community. This order is considered to be law, in the same way as all preceding orders. Salisbury Police Department will be actively enforcing this order with warnings and fines as appropriate. To report a large party or gathering that you believe to be in violation of this Executive Order, please call the Salisbury Police Department non-emergency number at 410-548-3165.
