City Storm Preparation Actions for Wednesday, September 12th, 2018
SALISBURY – City officials and allied agencies were briefed this morning by the Maryland Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service in Wakefield, VA. With the track of Hurricane Florence now taking it farther south, the impact here on the Delmarva Peninsula is expected to be minimal. Residents can anticipate 2” to 4” of rain as the extreme outer bands of the storm cross over Salisbury. Sustained winds of 10mph to 15mph are expected, with gusts as high as 30mph.
Recent heavy rainfall has inundated the ground in many areas, making it possible that residents may see some downed trees over the next few days. Please exercise caution, and report any hazardous conditions such as trees down in the road.
For more information, citizens may call 833-SBY-City (833-729-2489), or check the City’s website and social media accounts for updates as they become available.
