SALISBURY, Maryland – The City of Salisbury, through its Fire and Police Departments, will host a remembrance ceremony on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 9 a.m. at Fire Station 16 to honor the victims and heroes of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
“Certainly, 9/11 stands alone in our history as a day of loss. Standing together in honor of that day offers both healing and a salute to all who lost their lives. As Mayor, I am proud to pay my respects along with the staff and citizens of Salisbury,” said Mayor Randolph J. Taylor.
The solemn ceremony will last approximately 30 minutes and will include remarks from City officials, the posting and retrieval of colors by a combined Police and Fire Honor Guard, a bagpipe performance of Amazing Grace, and the traditional ringing of the bell in the 5-5-5 sequence, symbolizing a fallen firefighter’s last call.
The event will feature remarks from Mayor Randolph J. Taylor, Salisbury Police Chief David Meienschein, and Salisbury Fire Chief Rob Frampton.
The ceremony will take place at the station’s flagpole and bell area. In the event of inclement weather, the program will be held inside the station’s engine bays. Members of the community are invited to attend and join in remembrance.
