Temporary Road Closures in Salisbury Due to Flooding

    August 28, 2026

SALISBURY, Md. — Due to flooding in areas of Salisbury, the City is temporarily closing portions of several roads to help protect motorists and allow crews to monitor changing water levels.

The following road closures are currently in effect:

    • Race Street from Snow Hill Road to Park Heights Avenue
    • Lake Street from West Main Street to Route 50
    • Lake Street from Burton Street to King Street
    • Fitzwater Street from West Main Street to Pearl Street

Barricades will be staggered where possible to allow continued access to local businesses in the affected areas.

Due to the next several high tides, the City plans to keep the barricades in place until approximately 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, as crews continue to monitor flooding conditions.

Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through areas with standing or floodwater and to follow all posted barricades and detours.

The City of Salisbury appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation while crews monitor conditions and work to maintain safe access throughout the affected areas.
