City of Salisbury to Turn Up the Volume with Expanded Third Friday Music Celebration

    July 21, 2026

SALISBURY, Md. – As the City of Salisbury continues planning for the future of its signature downtown festival, residents and visitors are invited to experience Turn Up the Volume, a special expanded edition of Third Friday, on Friday, September 18, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Maryland Folk Festival, originally scheduled for September, is currently postponed while the City evaluates opportunities and develops plans for what will become its next premier downtown event. As planning continues, the City is introducing Turn Up the Volume, a music-themed Third Friday celebration dedicated to celebrating Salisbury’s thriving local music and arts community while offering an exciting preview of the energy and creativity that will shape future music-focused events.

For one night, Downtown Salisbury will transform into a live soundtrack featuring two stages of continuous performances, local and regional musicians, encouraging buskers to participate through the Salisbury Street Performers initiative, artists, vendors, food trucks, family-friendly entertainment, and interactive music experiences throughout the downtown district.

Designed to celebrate local and regional talent while driving foot traffic and economic activity, Turn Up the Volume encourages residents and visitors to explore downtown, support local businesses, and experience Salisbury as a vibrant Arts & Entertainment District.

“While we continue planning for the future of a premier downtown festival, Turn Up the Volume gives us the opportunity to celebrate the incredible musicians, performers, and artists who make our community so vibrant,” said Scott Roberts, Director of the Arts, Business, and Culture Department.
