    Real Property Tax Billing Update

    July 6, 2020

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Salisbury- For many years, citizens of Salisbury received a Wicomico County Real Property Tax bill which also included their City of Salisbury Real Property Tax bill. In 2019, County leadership decided they no longer wished to process tax bills for the City and allowed the City’s contract for this service to expire. Therefore, effective FY19/20 Tax Year (July 1, 2019 – June 20, 2020) and thereafter, the City Real Property Tax will no longer be included on the County Tax bill, meaning citizens will receive two bills – one for their Wicomico County property taxes, and one for their City property taxes.

City Real Estate Taxes billed by the County prior to July 2019 for previous years are to be paid to Wicomico County at the Wicomico County Tax Office, Room 102 of the Government Office Building, or by mail. City Real Estate Taxes billed beginning July 2019 (for FY2020) and onward are to be paid to the City of Salisbury.

As part of the City’s commitment to the health of its employees and community, Salisbury’s Finance Department, like many other departments, is continuing to telework in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19. City property owners must mail or drop off checks in the City Finance Department’s no-contact dropbox, located inside the Government Office Building.

City of Salisbury property owners can view their Real Property Tax bills at https://salisbury.md/departments/finance, please have your parcel ID, house number and street name handy in order to view bills.

If you do not receive the City Real Property Tax bill by July 31, 2020, please contact the City of Salisbury Finance Department. If you have any questions, please contact City of Salisbury’s Finance Department by phone at 410-548-3110 or by email at [email protected].
