Salisbury, MD – Renovations are underway at the Truitt Community Center, bringing important upgrades to a well-used community space.
The project includes improvements to the gymnasium, such as new insulation in the walls and ceiling, wall padding, and metal wall coverings to create a more durable and suitable surface for recreational use.
The gym closed May 4 to allow for construction and is expected to reopen by the end of June as external contractors complete the renovations.
“These upgrades will provide a more updated, suitable space for the community,” said Muir Boda. “We’re looking forward to reopening the gym and welcoming residents back into an improved environment.”
Mayor Randy Taylor added, “This is part of the City of Salisbury’s ongoing commitment to providing quality community center facilities. An investment in kids is vital to a successful city.
In addition to the renovations, a new rental reservation system will be introduced in early July to help streamline the booking process for community members and organizations looking to use the facility.
The Truitt Community Center continues to serve as an important gathering place for residents, and these improvements support its ongoing role as a space for recreation, connection and community activity.
