The Salisbury City Council and City Clerk Kim Nichols are pleased to announce that Julie A. English has been appointed as Salisbury’s Assistant City Clerk.
English, currently the Mayor’s Office Administrative Assistant III, is a graduate of Wor-Wic Community College and began her career with the City of Salisbury in 2015 as Buyer Assistant in Procurement. She transferred to Field Operations as Office Manager before being promoted in 2019 to Mayor’s Office Administrative Assistant III.
“I love working for the City and having the opportunity to make a difference for our employees, as well as the community,” said English. City Clerk Nichols noted that English’s experience, eagerness to learn new things and take on a challenge were most impressive.
Julie’s first day on the job will be May 24, 2021. She will replace Assistant City Clerk Diane Carter who announced her retirement effective July 1, 2021 after 23 years of Municipal Government service.
“While our City will definitely feel the void left with Diane’s retirement, I am confident that Julie will continue the excellent work Diane has always done. The City Council and I look forward to working with her,” said City Clerk Nichols.
