SALISBURY, Maryland — As part of ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and improve traffic flow, the City of Salisbury is pleased to announce the removal of temporary speed bumps in the Downtown Salisbury Parking Garage.
Originally installed as a safety measure, the speed bumps were intended to reduce speeding in the garage during the height of construction, following reports of increased vehicle speeds. Now, with construction nearing completion and enhanced safety protocols in place, the Administration is confident in the safe flow of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic within the garage.
To support continued safety without hindering accessibility, new “Reduce Speed” signage will be installed in place of the speed bumps. This change aims to improve the overall experience for visitors while still encouraging cautious driving.
“We’re excited to remove these temporary measures as we approach a vibrant event season,” said Mayor Randy Taylor. “With safety top of mind, we’re proud to have reached a point where we can prioritize smoother navigation while still ensuring a safe environment for our workers and patrons.”
The removal work is scheduled to begin the week of April 21. This update reflects the City’s continued commitment to making Downtown Salisbury more accessible, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
We appreciate the patience and understanding of all visitors throughout the construction period and look forward to welcoming you this event season.
