City of Salisbury Announces Street Closure for Construction Work

    February 17, 2026

The City of Salisbury Department of Field Operations will close St. Peters Street for construction. Crews will be working on concrete improvements throughout the week.

West Main Street and West Church Street will remain open, but motorists should expect increased traffic and possible delays in the downtown area. Construction is scheduled to be completed by Friday, Feb. 20.

Mayor Randy Taylor emphasized the importance of the project for the city’s economic vitality.

“Investing in our infrastructure is key to boosting business downtown,” the mayor said. “These improvements will make our streets safer and more accessible, creating a better experience for residents and visitors alike.”

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow extra travel time. For updates, visit www.salisbury.md or follow the City of Salisbury on social media.
