SALISBURY, Maryland — The Salisbury Police Department, Chief David Meienschein, has declared a state of emergency for February 11, 2025, effective from 1 p.m. to February 12, 2025, at 5 p.m., in preparation for the expected snowfall. City services will continue normal operations as officials monitor the storm in the early hours of Tuesday. Trash collection and recycling pickup will proceed as scheduled.
As the storm progresses, the Field operations team will work to clear City roads and will remain diligent throughout the event. The City encourages residents to stay safe and remain home if possible. It is crucial that snow emergency routes remain clear for plowing. If you live on a designated snow emergency route, please move your vehicle off the street by 1 p.m. to allow for snow removal. Residential areas will be plowed if snow accumulations exceed four inches.
Sidewalk and Fire Hydrant Snow Removal
Property owners adjacent to City streets should remove snow from their sidewalks within twenty-four hours after snowfall ends. The cleared path must be at least four feet wide to ensure pedestrian safety.
Residents near fire hydrants should clear a four-foot-wide space around the hydrant for emergency access.
When clearing snow from your property or sidewalks, do not push or throw it into the streets, as this makes road clearing more difficult and hazardous. For more information on City snow removal, visit the City website.
