SALISBURY, Maryland – The Salisbury City Council is implementing important changes to its meeting schedule for 2025 to streamline operations and enhance security. Effective immediately, the City Council will hold Legislative meetings on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month at 6 PM, starting with a Work Session when necessary.
“By reshaping our meeting schedule, we’re enhancing both the efficiency and security of our sessions, while upholding our commitment to transparency and ensuring the public remains an integral part of our decision-making process,” said Council President D’Shawn Doughty.
Due to security concerns, participation in Zoom meetings will be restricted to City of Salisbury staff and presenters. We are working on a solution to allow virtual viewing of the meetings. Public participation remains a core part of these meetings; however, comments from the public during both Work Sessions and Legislative Sessions will be limited to two minutes per speaker.
To sign up for public comment, the City has introduced a new online form available through the City’s website on the City Council landing page (Public Comment Form). This form may be submitted the Tuesday prior to the meeting through noon the day of the meeting. Electronic submissions will not be accepted after noon on the day of the meeting. For those who prefer to use paper forms, these will still be accepted prior to the meeting, but they must be completed and turned in to the City Clerk before the meeting is called to order.
These changes are part of the City Council’s ongoing effort to improve the efficiency, security, and transparency of city operations. For more information and to view the approved schedule of meetings, visit the Salisbury City Council landing page at www.salisbury.md/citizen-services/city-council .
