Arlene Angela Byrd & Antonio Darrelle Smith Incident #201000028600
On July 18, 2010 at approximately 7:00pm, SPD officers responded to 510 Emory Ct, Apt. 303 in reference to a report of suspicious circumstances. Officers made entry into the residence and located Arlene Angela Byrd and Antonio Darrelle Smith deceased inside. Detectives learned that Byrd and Smith had arrived at the apartment in the early morning hours of July 18, 2010 and they were accosted by an unknown suspect(s) sometime thereafter. Detectives conducted numerous witness interviews and developed a number of leads during the investigation.
Abdul Choudhry Incident #200900021886
On June 22, 2009 at approximately 11:00pm, SPD officers responded to a shooting at the Shell Station located at 2513 N. Salisbury Blvd. Upon arrival, officers located the business owner, Abdul Choudhry, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Choudhry was transported to PRMC where he succumbed to his injuries. Investigation determined that two black males had entered the business demanding money at gunpoint. The victim was shot when he struggled with one of the suspects, who subsequently fled the business on foot. Suspect #1 was described as a thin black male, approximately 6’ tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black mask covering his face. Suspect #2 was described as a black male wearing all dark clothing.
Kiaira Kisihay Jones Incident #200800018108
On May 23, 2008 at approximately 2:00am, SPD officers responded to The Bottle Factory located at 733 Roland St. in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers located Kiaira Kisihay Jones on the sidewalk in front of the business suffering from a gunshot wound. Jones was transported to PRMC where she succumbed to her injuries. Investigation determined that an unidentified suspect(s) fired multiple gunshots into a large crowd of patrons who were exiting The Bottle Factory. Indications are that Jones was not the target of the shooting.
Audrey Lee Jurewicz #200800027025
On July 28, 2008 at approximately 11am, SPD officers responded to a wooded area near Marvel Rd. and Scenic Dr. in reference to a dead body at that location. Investigators identified the remains as those of Audrey Lee Jurewicz, who had recently been reported missing. Jurewicz was last seen alive on or about July 18, 2008 in the early morning hours in the area of Rt. 13 and Elizabeth St. in Salisbury. Jurewicz’ death was determined to be a homicide.
Richard Darrien Tull Incident #200600017489
On June 5, 2006 at approximately 12:10am, SPD officers responded to a shooting at the Queen City Elks Lodge located at 230 Catherine St. Upon arrival, officers located Richard Darrien Tull behind a nearby residence. Tull was suffering from a gunshot wound, and later succumbed to his injuries while at PRMC. Investigation determined that Tull was shot in the parking lot of the Elks Lodge by an unidentified gunman. Several witnesses were present, but they provided limited details about the incident. The suspect was described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt. The case remains open.
Denise Horsey Incident #200600010895
On April 8, 2006 at approximately 6:15am, SPD officers responded to the rear of 306 Naylor St. for a report of a female screaming for help. Upon arrival, officers located Denise Horsey suffering from multiple stab wounds. Horsey was transported to PRMC where she succumbed to her injuries.
Patricia Marie Dudek Incident #200200000919
On January 10, 2002 SPD officers responded to a report of a missing person. Investigation determined that Patricia Marie Dudek was last seen in the early morning hours of January 7, 2002 at her residence. Dudek has not been seen since that time and indications are that she would not have voluntarily disappeared for such an extended period.
Desirei Demeris Joyner Incident #200100022668
On September 19, 2001 at approximately 10:15pm, SPD officers responded to the area of Priscilla St. and the railroad tracks in reference to a homicide. Officers located Desirei Demeris Joyner lying in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigation determined that the victim had been shot inside a residence on Jefferson St. during a struggle and fled from the house, collapsing in the roadway. During the investigation the subjects who lived in the house did not call the police and were deceptive during interviews.
April Lynne Snell Incident #199900023134
On October 5, 1999 SPD officers responded to a report of a missing person. Investigation determined that April Lynne Snell was last seen several days prior in the company of her friend, Catharyn Ruth Garner, and two men. Snell has not been seen since that time. Garner was found murdered several weeks later in a wooded area off of Athol Rd. in Quantico. Snell had several young children at the time of her disappearance and indications are that she would not have voluntarily left them for such an extended period.
Angel Morales Incident #199800018719
On August 29, 1998 at approximately 12:50am, SPD officers responded to the area of the VFW on W. Main St. in reference to a homicide. The investigation revealed that Angel Morales had been robbed and shot with a small caliber handgun. A witness told police that they observed two suspects at the time of the shooting. The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 36 years of age, 6 feet tall, 150 pounds, with 2 inch knots or dreads in his hair with a light mustache. This suspect is known as “Bobby Jones” and “Dreads.” The second suspect is described as a black male, approximately 27 – 30 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 175 pounds, short hair, with an earring in his left ear and right side of the nose.
Steven Lamont Whitney Incident #199700022323
On October 25, 1997 at approximately 1:30am, SPD officers responded to the area of 1007 Fairground Dr. in reference to a homicide. The investigation revealed that Steven Whitney had been shot with a large caliber handgun. A witness observed the suspect in possession of a handgun just prior to the shooting. The suspect is described as a light skinned black male, possibly half Italian, first name of Alvino, also known as “A,” 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall, 175 pounds, slim to medium build, approximately 25 – 30 years old, last seen wearing a tan toboggan with red stripes. The suspect was last seen leaving the area just after the shooting in a vehicle. The vehicle is described a dark color possibly brown or grey in color, older model Oldsmobile Delta 88, tinted windows and displaying Washington D.C. tags. The investigation revealed that the suspect had visited the Salisbury, MD area frequently but lives or has contacts in the Washington DC area.
George “Sonny” Stevenson Jr. Incident #199700006265
On March 27, 1997 at approximately 1:10am, SPD officers responded to the rear of 618 Baker St. in reference to a homicide. The investigation revealed that George “Sonny” Stevenson Jr. had been robbed and shot with a small caliber handgun. A witness advised that the victim went to the rear of the house and several minutes later observed the victim run from the rear of the house and heard gunshots. The witness advised that they observed the suspect running behind the victim with his arm extended and appeared to be chasing after the victim. The witnesses described the suspect as a black male, approximately 18 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 220 pounds.
Irma Jane Smith Incident #199400010733
On May 12, 1994 at approximately 1:54am, SPD officers responded to the Shore Stop convenience store located on Rt. 13 and Cherry St. in reference to a homicide. The investigation revealed that the store clerk, Irma Jane Smith, had been stabbed numerous times. It appears that Smith had been robbed prior to the homicide. A witness told police they saw a man inside the store at approximately 1:30 A.M. When the witness attempted to enter the business a black male told the witness that the store was closed. A second witness advised police that he observed a black male putting items into a bag. This witness was also told by the subject that the store was closed. The man inside the store was described as a black male, approximately 30 years old, 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 230 pounds with a light mustache, wearing a baseball type hat, brown work pants and a work jacket. The police are also looking for a man that was seen outside the store on the pay phone who may either be a witness or possible lookout for the suspect. This man is described as a black male, approximately 28 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 165 pounds, very clean appearance with a mustache.
